FAQS

Q. What is SacredSheetMusic.com?
A. SacredSheetMusic.com is an on-line, digital-download, sheet music store selling quality, conservative sacred sheet music for instrumentalists, vocalists and choirs as pdf file downloads. No music is mailed to the customer. You can view and listen to most musical examples before purchasing. Once you purchase an item it is available to be immediately downloaded to your computer as a pdf document where it will contain your own, personalized license “stamped” onto the file. Please note that not all vendors have supplied audio files, so the audio player box will not be showing for those items where there is no audio file to play. Also, certain web browsers or filtering software may interfere with playback for those that have audio files. Internet Explorer in particular does not always seem to properly display or playback audio. If you have playback problems, please understand the issue is undoubtedly not with this website but on your computer. There are many factors that can influence playback and if you continue to have problems please consult a technical expert that can do a "hands-on" analysis of your computer's audio playback.

Q. How do I get my music once I pay for it?
A. We do not mail any music. Every so often I get a message from someone saying their music has not arrived. Again, we do not mail any music. Once you complete a purchase you simply go to the home page (click on the SacredSheetMusic.com logo) as a logged-in user and select "My Account" in the right hand column. If this option is not showing you are not logged in. Once you log into your account this option will be available. Choosing "My Account" will take you to your account profile page. Choose the tab "Files" and you will see your purchases waiting to be downloaded and printed. You can print as many copies as you paid for at checkout. The number of allowed copies will be clearly indicated by the digitally "stamped" license on every page of your download. Please contact us if you have any issues with this process.

Q. You do not seem to have many selections at this time in certain instrumentations or instrument combinations. Is this something that will change?
A. SacredSheetMusic.com was launched in January of 2007. It has grown slowly since that time. In April of 2014 we launched a completely rebuilt website from scratch and now anticipate much more accelerated growth in the coming months. Hundreds of various arrangements are now available for flute, saxophone, tuba to guitar including many Christmas arrangements. Adding new music to the site will be a continuous and ongoing process. If you have specific instrument requests please contact us directly and we will make supplying that instrumentation a priority.

Q. I don’t understand the statement “Your music never wears out and never gets lost.
A. When you purchase your music you receive a pdf file that downloads directly to your computer with a personalized license “stamped” onto the file. This license clearly states how many printed copies you purchased with the download. If your music wears out or gets damaged (like, you spill your coffee on it), you may tear it up and print out a fresh copy. If the music becomes legitimately lost, you may print out a new copy. As long as you keep your original pdf file you have a life-time permission from SacredSheetMusic.com to reprint your music to the amount your print license allows. If you lose the pdf file after 30 days from the time of purchase, you will have to repurchase the file to replace wear or loss. Support at SacredSheetMusic.com will not supply a replacement pdf file.

Q. How much does the music cost?
A. Choral octavos begin at the unbelievable low price of $.95 each. Vocal and instrumental solos will range from $2.95 to $4.95 each. Ensemble music will cost more and is determined by the individual vendors posting that music for sale. Each item’s price will be clearly listed for your information.

Q. Are there any additional costs at the time of purchase?
A. Every transaction will incur a one-time $.69 (69 cents) "Order Fee" to cover the preparation and delivery of your selection(s) purchased. In other words, if you purchase a vocal solo for $3.95 you would be charged an additional $.69 for preparing and delivering your pdf order. This is a fixed, one-time "Order Fee" charged on any order whether your order is $5.00 or $150.00. Also, South Carolina residents purchasing at this site will pay SC sales tax. Purchases from outside of South Carolina may have tax liabilities in their own state for internet, out-of-state purchases. This is not intended as tax advice.

Q. How does this process work?
A. 1. You search for the selections that you like.
2. You add those to your shopping cart.
3. You pay for your order with a credit card or through your Paypal account.
4. You download the music to your computer.

Q. What if I want to return the music once I purchase it?
A. Because you are able to view and, for most selections, listen to a musical sample before you purchase, and because there is no way to guarantee a retrieval of a digitally licensed document, SacredSheetMusic.com is unable to offer a return policy on any music purchased.

Q. In what format do you sell the sheet music and why?
A. SacredSheetMusic.com sells all sheet music as downloadable pdf (portable document format) files. The Adobe Acrobat Reader program is free to everyone as a download from the Adobe web site (http://get.adobe.com/reader/), and it is compatible with both the PC and Macintosh platforms. It also offers us the ability to create a product for you that will encapsulate all the special fonts and information in the document for maximum compatibility issues with your computer and operating system. It also allows us to encrypt your personalized print license into the document itself. This is the most important and unique concept that SacredSheetMusic.com does that sets it apart from all other on-line “music on demand” processes.

Q. Once I purchase the sheet music, it's mine to do as like, such as sharing it with my friends or family, right?
A. Your music comes with a personalized license “stamped” on the top of every page. It clearly states how many copies are licensed for print. Printing more copies than the license allows constitutes copyright infringement and is punishable by law. But, you may allow others such as students to use your print-outs of the music as long as there are never more copies of the music in print and in use than the print license allows. Please see the "Terms and Conditions Page."

Q. How long will it take to download the sheet music?
A. Your music will be immediately available for download as soon as your payment has processed. The actual download speed will depend on your connection to the internet and how much music you buy. Individual files are generally under 200k so they are easily manageable even with a slow connection.

Q. What do you define as conservative sacred music and why is it so important?
A. This question really goes beyond the scope of this FAQS page. We recommend you reference the following excellent resources – both of which can be purchased through Amazon.com (http://www.amazon.com). Please refer to the SacredSheetMusic.com Mission Statement for a brief overview statement of philosophy and purpose.
“The Battle for Christian Music” by Tim Fisher (book)
“Music in the Balance” by Kurt Woetzel (book)

Q. How do I pay for my music?
A. Once you decide to check out from the shopping cart, you will be directed to the PayPal secure site where you pay whether or not you have a Paypal account. You can use any major credit card at this Paypal site without using or creating a Paypal account or simply pay through your existing Paypal account. Please note: YOU DO NOT HAVE TO HAVE OR REGISTER FOR A PAYPAL ACCOUNT TO BUY FROM SacredSheetMusic.com.

Q. Why should I buy from SacredSheetMusic.com when I can get it from somewhere else?
A. 1. SacredSheetMusic.com allows you to buy the music instantly so you can have it when you need it.
2. For most selections you are able to hear an excerpt of how the selection sounds before you buy it.
3. You don’t have to buy a whole book – just one selection if that is all you need.
4. Your music never wears out and never gets lost!
5. No traveling to a music/bookstore and no waiting for the mail to deliver your item - your purchase(s) can be downloaded to your computer as soon as you pay.

Q. Is there any tax on my download?
A. Yes and No. SacredSheetMusic.com only charges sales tax on sheet music purchased in South Carolina based on our office location in Pickens County (7%). However, this may not alleviate your tax liability in your own state. If you live outside of South Carolina, you may still be liable to file your purchases on your income tax return under a "Sales and Use Tax" or a similar section. This is in no way intended to be tax advice. SacredSheetMusic.com shall not be held liable for any tax, legal, or any other information provided on this site whether directly stated or implied.
